Question : ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR NATIONAL HIGHWAYS TO KERALA



(a) the estimated cost of removing deficiencies on the National Highways in the State of Kerala;

(b) the Ninth Plan allocations for the maintenance, original work and special repairing works of the National Highways in the State, year-wise;

(c) the specific works identified to be taken up with the plan allocations during the Ninth Plan period;

(d) the actual expenditure and the release of funds in each of the three years of the said plan; and

(e) the details of the other specific steps to be taken ultimately to remove the deficiencies in respect of National Highways in the State?

(a) About Rs. 5500 Crore.
(b) The funds allocated for first three years of 9th Five Year Plan are as under :

(c) During 9th five Year Plan, works aggregating to Rs. 613 Crore are likely to be taken up on National Highways in the State of Kerala for detailed engineering, land acquisition, construction of by-passes, road over-bridge/under-bridge, missing links, strengthening as well as widening, reconstruction and rehabilitation of bridges and culverts etc.
