Question : National Apprenticeship Training Scheme

(a) the details of National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS);
(b) whether the Government proposes to implement the said scheme to impart employment related training to the students of Arts, Science and Commerce streams;
(c) if so, the details thereof and the duration of course in terms of years; and
(d) the number of students imparted training under the said Scheme in Uttar Pradesh?

(a)National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a central sector scheme implemented by Ministry of Education through four regional Boards of Apprentices/Practical Training (BoAT/BoPT) located at Mumbai, Kanpur, Chennai and Kolkata in the country. The objective of the scheme is to provide a course of training in any industry/establishment to freshly pass out engineering graduates, diploma holders, graduate in General Streams like B.A, B.Sc & B.Com and students studying degree and diploma level courses in sandwitch programme of engineering. The scheme is operated as per “The Apprentices Act, 1961” and “The Apprenticeship Rules, 1992”.
(b) & (c) Yes Sir. The duration of apprenticeship under this scheme ranges from a minimum period of six months to three years.
(d)The number of students imparted training under the NATS scheme in Uttar Pradesh during last three years are as follows:
