(a) the number of new shipping and dry ports proposed to be built up by the Government;
(b) the number of the existing and new ports which have been/ are to be connected with railway line; and
(c) the funds released/sanctioned for completion of existing under-construction ports in the country?
(a) Government of India has given in-principle approval for development of a new Major Port at Vadhavan in Maharashtra. Government of India has also given approval for development of dry ports at Wardha and Jalna in Maharashtra.
(b) All 12 Major Ports are connected with railway line. For further improvement of rail connectivity, there are 81 rail connectivity projects under the Sagarmala program which provides/improves connectivity of major & minor ports.
(c) No funds has been sanctioned/released.
