(a) whether the Government is considering to create an online database for the documentation of details of development order of the tribes in the country their place in history, lifestyle, eating habits, architecture, education level and traditional arts;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of tribal institutes in the country particularly in Gujarat; and
(d) whether the Government is going to formulate any concrete scheme for augmentation of the pride of tribal culture?
(a)& (b) To preserve and promote rich tribal cultural heritage, Ministry of Tribal Affairs funds State Tribal Research Institutes for conducting documentation (Audio-Video, photos and documentation in written and published form) of indigenous knowledge systems practices, cultures, life styles, architecture and customs of the tribal communities. The details of such studies are available on digital repository (https://repository.tribal.gov.in/) developed by Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The photos and videos of such practices based on studies undertaken by TRIs can be seen at Audio vedio tribal Repository (https://tribal.nic.in/repository/). These repositories can also be accessed through Ministry’s website (https://tribal.nic.in/) and Performance Dashboard (https://dashboard.tribal.gov.in/), which provides link to these web application.
(c ) The details of Tribal Research Institutes across the country including Gujarat is at Annexure I
(d) Ministry of Tribal Affairs is administrating the schemes of “Support of Tribal Research Institute” and “Tribal Festival, Research, Information and Mass Education” under which various activities to augment tribal culture are undertaken as shown below:
(i) Research studies/publication of books/documentation including audio visual documentaries on promotion of rich tribal cultural heritage.
(ii) Tribal cultural exchange programmes
(iii) Research and documentation of Indigenous practices by tribal healers and medicinal plants, Adivasi Languages, agriculture system, dances and paintings etc.
(iv). To acknowledge the heroic and patriotic deeds of tribal people, Ministry has sanctioned setting up 10 Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum as given in Annexure-II. These museum will also exhibit rich tribal cultural heritage of the region.
(v). Ministry provides funds for organizing Adi Mahotsav festival at National level and state level.
(vi). TRIFEDorganizes Tribal Artisan Melas (TAMs) to identify new artisans and new products at the sourcing level in States/Districts/Villages for expanding the tribal producers base.
