THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
(a): Some of the Schemes implemented by NABARD for the development of rural infrastructure in the country are as follows:
(i) Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF): The fund was set up in 1995-96 with the objective of providing loans to the States for investments in rural infrastructure projects. The 39 eligible activities under RIDF are broadly categorized into 3 sectors, namely, Agriculture and related activities, Social sector and Rural Connectivity.
(ii) Long Term Irrigation Fund (LTIF): The fund is meant to fast track 99 major irrigation projects and augment irrigation potential by 34.6 lakh ha. While the central share of funds for irrigation projects is provided through National Water Development Agency, loans for the state share are provided to respective State Governments through market borrowings of NABARD.
(iii) Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF): The objective of scheme is to facilitate mobilization of additional resources by states for expanding micro irrigation coverage in the country.
(iv) Dairy processing and Infrastructure Fund (DIDF): The Fund has been set up for creation and modernisation of milk processing facilities and other dairy related infra in the country.
(v) Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Fund (FIDF): The fund envisages infrastructure support to State Governments for development of fish harbors, fish landing centre, modernized fish seed farms, modern fish markets, disease diagnostic laboratories etc.
(b): The state and UT wise details of amount sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund during the last three financial years, are given in Annexure I.
(c): The year-wise and district-wise details of amount sanctioned in Jharkhand (including districts of SanthalParagana Division) during the last three years and the current financial year, are given in Annexure II.
