Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF SHIPPING, ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI K.H. MUNIYAPPA)

(a) National Highways are maintained in traffic worthy condition within the available resources. Further, every year, funds are allocated to the State Government for maintenance and repair.

(b) & (c) A proposal amounting to Rs.8.55 Crores for work of widening and reconstruction in Km.181 to 190 on NH-80 was received from Bihar Government but the same was returned because of the insufficient technical details. The State Government has recently resubmitted the modified proposal amounting to Rs.10.87 Crores for the aforesaid work. This work is included in the Annual Plan 2005-06 and sanction of the same will depend upon the availability of funds, inter-se-priority and sanction limit. Therefore, it is too early to indicate the date of start for the aforesaid work.
