(a) to (d): No Madam. At present, the Central Higher Educational Institutions (CEIs) of Ministry of Human Resource Development located in the country comprises 16 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 40 Central Universities, 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), 05 Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), 09 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 01 Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore, 01 India School of Mines (ISM) at Dhandbad, 01 National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) at Mumbai, 01 Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) at Shibpur, 04 National Institutes of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTRs), 03 Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), 01 National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) at Ranchi, 03 Boards of Apprenticeship Training (BoATs), 01 Central Institute of Technology (CIT) at Kokrajhar, 01 Board of Practical Training (BOPT) at Kolkata, 01 Ghani Khan Chaudhary Institute of Engineering and Technology (GKCIET) at Malda, 01 North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Itanagar, 01 Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Sangrur, and 01 National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), New Delhi. Thus, each State has one or more Central Higher Educational Institution. Over a period of time, the numbers of Central Higher Educational Institutions have increased to augment intake of students in States / UTs.
Out of these Central Higher Educational Institutions, as many as 05 Institutes are functioning in the State of Maharashtra.
