(a) whether the Railways are installing Electronic in-motion weigh bridges and also replacing mechanical weigh bridges with electronic weigh bridges;
(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the location where the work has been taken up in this regard; and
(d) the amount allocated for the purpose?

(a): Yes Sir, however, replacement of mechanical weighbridges is only on condition basis.
(b) & (c) 39 electronic in-motion weighbridges have been ordered. At 14 locations these have been commissioned and for the balance, matter is under process. Details are furnished in the Appendix.
(d) The funds required for 39 weighbridges ordered are approximately Rs. 3.5 crores.
