Question : National Council for Research

(a) whether the Government is planning to establish National Council for Research
across the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise including West Bengal and Gujarat and the
reasons therefor;
(c) the details of the funds likely to be sanctioned in this regard;
(d) the details of the target set for this; and
(e) the time by which it is likely to be established?

(a) to (e): No, Madam. Presently, there is no such proposal under consideration.
However, establishment of National Research Foundation is being examined in the
Ministry.
