(a) whether the Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE)is World Bank assisted project started to improve efficiency of skills developments through Industrial Training Institutes and apprenticeship through Industry Clusters in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of the steps taken by the Government to strengthen the functioning of STRIVE project to achieve the goal of employment in Bihar including district Gopalganj; and

(d) the details of fund release for Bihar under the said scheme and total number of beneficiaries therein?

Answer given by the minister

(a) Yes, Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing World Bank assisted project Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) project at a total cost of Rs. 2200 crore. The project duration is 5 years (2017-2022). The objective of the project is to improve relevance and efficiency of skills development provided through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and apprenticeship. Under the project, 426 ITIs including 29 Private ITIs in 33 States & UTs have been selected. Also, 33 Industry Clusters (ICs) in 12 States have been selected in the country.
(b) The details of ITIs and ICs selected under the project are given at Annexure -I.
(c) and (d) In the State of Bihar, 4 (Four) Government ITIs have been selected under the STRIVE project. However, Gopalganj district is not covered under the project. The details of fund released and beneficiaries are given below:
