Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE OF DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND TRAINING AND DEPARTMENT OF PENSION AND PENSIONERS` WELFARE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS (SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a),(b) and (c) : Housing being a state subject, it is for the various State Government to formulate and implement various housing schemes as per their priorities and local needs and accordingly make reservations for various categories of people including Central Government employees/pensioners. However, the Central Government had set up a Society named Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organization in July 1990. This is an autonomous organization working under the aegis of Ministry of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation. It executes housing projects at various places where there is concentration of central Government employees/pensioners. The dwelling units are constructed and allotted to working Central Government employees and pensionsers retired within 5 years of announcement of a particular project on `no profit/loss` basis.
