Prohibition Act, 2000 and the Domestic Violence (Prohibition)
Act, 2006;
(b) the number of cases lodged under the said Acts during each of the
last three years, State-wise; and
(c) the action taken in this regard?

(a),(b)&(c) The number of cases reported, persons chargesheeted, persons
convicted etc. during 2003 to 2005 under the Dowry Prohibition Act 1961,
as per the information compiled by National Crime Records Bureau,
Ministry of Home Affairs is shown in the Annexure.
The Bureau does not presently have information under the Protection
of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 since the Act came into force
only on 26.10.2006.
