MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT(DR. D. PURANDESWARI)

(a) to (e): There is no legal requirement of reporting of financial or other irregularities by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to the Central Government. However, instances reported in the past, from sources within the IITs or otherwise, which were considered to be serious were looked into and some of those issues stand resolved. The IITs are subjected to annual audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and the irregularities, if any, pointed out by Audit, are dealt with through a well laid down procedure.
