(a) whether the Government has fixed any target to connect the villages through link roads under the Phase II of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY);

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether all the remaining villages are likely to be covered by the end of Phase II;

(d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has not been launched in phases, however, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) all habitations with population of 500 persons or more are to be provided with all weather road connectivity. For Hill States (North East, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand), Tribal (Schedule V) Areas and Desert Areas (as identified in Desert Development Programme), habitations with population of 250 or more persons are eligible for coverage under PMGSY.

(c): All eligible habitations are to be connected under the programme.

(d): State wise details of number of habitations which are eligible for coverage under the programme, number of habitations for which projects have been sanctioned to connect them with all weather roads and number of habitations which have been connected with all weather roads are given in the annexure.

(e): Does not arise.
