(a) whether the Government has given funds for the construction of National Highways (NHs) in the North Eastern Region (NER) in the recent past;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated during the last three years, highway-wise; and
(c) whether the progress of work is satisfactory, if not, the action is being taken against the erring agencies in order to ensure proper implementation of the work?

(a) & (b) Yes Madam, however, funds are not allocated highway-wise but the allocation are made State-wise National under Highway (Original works), [NH(O)] and Programme wise for the Special Accelerated Development Programme for North East (SARDP-NE). The details of allocations and expenditure under NH (O) and SARDP-NE in the North Easter Region (NER) during the last three year including the current year is given below:

(c) The progress of work in NER is satisfactory and in some cases where the progress is not satisfactory, action has been taken against the erring agencies by way of imposing of liquidity damages, debarment from participating in contracts and termination of contracts.
