Question : ALLOTMENT OF PETROL PUMPS GAS AGENCIES TO MARTYRS OF KARGIL WAR



(a): whether any provision has been made for allotment of petrol pumps and gas agencies to the families of martyrs of Kargil War 1999 and those rendered physically handicapped;

(b): if so, the details thereof;

(c): the number of said families and handicapped soldiers allotted petrol pumps and gas agencies so far alongwith the details thereof;

(d): the total number of said families and handicapped soldiers of Kargil War yet to be allotted petrol pumps and gas agencies;

(e): whether any Committee has been formed in this regard;

(f): if so, whether recommendations of the Committee have been implemented; and

(g): if not, the reasons therefore?

(a) to (d): Government introduced a special scheme in 1999 for the allotment of retail outlet dealerships (petrol pumps) and LPG distributorships to the widows / next of kin of the defence personnel killed in action in “Operation Vijay” (Kargil). Soldiers rendered Physically Handicapped (PH) were not covered under this Scheme. Under this special scheme, total 446 RO dealerships/ LPG distributorships were allotted by the Government and there is no case of pending allotment.

(e) to (g): No committee has been constituted by the Ministry in this regard.
