Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (I/C) IN THE MINISTRY OF COAL, POWER, NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY AND MINES.

(SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a) to (c): The private sector power producers having Fuel Supply Agreements with coal companies take coal for their power plants in terms of the FSA. Further, a Special Forward E-Auction window has been opened exclusively for power sector. Coal is made available through this window to those power plants which do not have coal block or linkages. Many power plants without long term PPA also take coal from this auction window. Coal, being under Open General Licence, can be imported directly by consumers or industries or traders as per their requirement.
