(a): The production of Coir and Coir products, percentage of growth during the last three years and number of Coir Units registered with Coir Board is as under :

(b): The Coir Board is implementing various schemes in all the coconut growing States including North Eastern Region for promotion and development of Coir Industry. These include:
I. Science & Technology,
II. Coir Udyami Yojana,
III Coir Vikas Yojana with following components;
a) Skill Upgradation and Quality Improvement & Mahila Coir Yojana
b) Development of Production Infrastructure (DPI)
c) Domestic Market Promotion (DMP)
d) Export Market Promotion (EMP)
e) Welfare Measure (Insurance to Coir Workers)
f) Trade and Industry Related Functional Support Services (TIRFSS)

Country-wise details of export of Coir and Coir products for the last three year in terms of quantity and value is given in Annexure-II.
(d)&(e): The Coir Board through the Ministry of MSME has taken up the matter of enhancement of export incentives for coir pith, coir geo-textiles, coir floor coverings, rubberized coir etc. with a view to increase the export of coir geo- textiles and coir pith, which are value added products, the Board has urged the government to enhance the rate of duty drawback for coir geo-textiles and coir pith from the existing level of 1.9% and 1% respectively, to 5%.
The drawback benefits have been increased for coir geo-textiles from 1.7% to 1.9% and coir floor coverings from 3.2% to 4.9%, on the basis of the proposals from the board.
