Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI A. NARENDRA)

(a)to (d) Under Swajaldhara, Government of India makes State/Union Territory-wise allocation of funds as per the inter State Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) allocation ratio fixed for the year and the State Governments, in turn, are required to make the district-wise allocation, including for districts where Sector Reform Pilot Projects were implemented. It is expected that the State Governments would keep in mind the district-wise number of schemes in hand, where requisite community contribution has already been mobilized, while finalising the district-wise allocations under Swajaldhara. Schemes which could not be taken up under Sector Reform Pilot Projects and which conform to Swajaldhara Guidelines are eligible for clearance under Swajaldhara by the District Water and Sanitation Committee (DWSC) within the allocated amount.
