Question : Kisan Credit Card Scheme

(a) the features of the PM-KISAN Scheme and whether the Government has linked this scheme with Kisan Credit Card Scheme;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether any special drive has been under taken through this scheme to cover Animal Husbandry and Dairying Farmers within the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) aims at providing financial assistance to landholding farmer families across the country, subject to certain exclusion criteria, to enable them to take care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs. The Government of India had announced to cover all PM-KISAN beneficiaries under Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme in the budget announcement made for the financial year 2020-21. Accordingly, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched a Kisan Credit Card Saturation drive to cover all PM-KISAN beneficiaries who don’t have KCC since February, 2020. As on 29.01.2021, 174.46 lakh KCC have been issued.

(c) & (d) A special saturation drive has been launched to provide concessional credit through KCC to farmers including PM Kisan beneficiaries, animal husbandry farmers (dairy, poultry, others) and fishermen from 1st June, 2020 on wards. During this drive as on 29.01.2021, a total number of 9,76,590 KCC have been sanctioned for animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries farmers. The details are given below:
