Question : JNNURM

Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state :
(a) The details of requests for financial assistance for pending eligible project of the Urban Infrastructure Governance(UIG) and Urban Infrastructure Development Schemes for small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT) the two components of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) received from various States during the last three years and the current year so far, project, city and State-wise and the stolus of implementation of these projects project and city-wise;

(b) The details of the requests for financial assistance sanctioned and the funds provided during the above period, project, city and State-wise;

(c) The details of requests for financial assistance still pending and the reasons for such pendency; and
(d) The time by which the pending requests are likely to be cleared?

(a & b:) The JNNURM Scheme has come to an end on 31.03.2014, however, the financial support is being extended for 398 eligible projects till 31.03.2017 only. A total of 161 (42-UIG and 119 UIDSSMT) number of requests have been received in the Ministry for release of financial assistance under JnNURM during the last three years. The project-wise requests (utilization certificates) received for financial assistance and status of implementation of projects city-wise and state-wise for the eligible projects during the period 2014-15, 2015-16 and the current year along with release of funds for these projects is enclosed as Annexure-I. Out of 161 proposals, 149 proposals have been approved and funds have been released.

(c & d) :The requests for financial assistance received in the form of complete Utilization Certificates (UCs) along with all required documents from the States/UTs, are processed for release of funds as per mission guidelines. There are 12 numbers of proposals for releases which are received in the Ministry and the list of the proposals is at Annexure-II. The last date for release of JnNURM funds is upto 31st March 2017.
