The Central Silk Board (Amendment) Bill, 2005 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on 30th August, 2005. The Bill, as introduced, was referred to the Standing Committee on Labour for examination and report. The Committee has submitted its Report on 27.02.2006 in the both Houses of Parliament and the recommendations of the Committee have been examined in the Ministry. A draft Note for the Cabinet has been prepared recommending certain amendments to the Central Silk Board (Amendment) Bill, 2005, introduced in Rajya Sabha earlier, in view of the Standing Committee ‘s recommendations. The Note has been forwarded to Ministry of Law & Justice (Department of Legal Affairs and Legislative Department) for vetting/approval.
