(a) whether the various State Governments have requested the Union Government to provide more forces to deal with the Naxalite attacks; and
(b) if so, the details of assistance sought by the affected States and the actual assistance provided to them during the last year?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): The Central Para Military Forces are made available to various States keeping in view the over all security scenario and availability of these Forces. These Forces have been deployed in various States, including the Naxalite affected States, after taking into consideration these constraints. It is, however, not in public interest to indicate the details of these Forces and their levels of deployment.
