Question : PROMOTION OF SOLAR ENERGY IN VILLAGES



(a) the details of villages and habitations in the country especially in Rajasthan where solar energy system has been set up, State-wise;

(b) the norms prescribed to set up said solar energy system;

(c) the details of feedback to achieve the target set in this regard;

(d) whether the said system is installed free of cost; and

(e) if so, whether village panchayats have to bear initial cost or its operational costs and if so, the details thereof?

(a): The state-wise details of number of villages and hamlets where Solar Energy System installed throughout the country is enclosed at Annexure-I.

(b): Ministry provides 30% capital subsidy on Solar Energy Systems for the proposals received from states subject to availability of funds. IES and BIS standards are followed for setting up of solar energy systems.

(c): There is no target fixed for the states in this regard. However states request for higher assistance and continuation of the programme.

(d): No Madam.

(e): No Madam. Since the schemes are beneficiary oriented, village panchayats do not have to bear initial cost or operational cost.
