Question : Regional Doordarshan Units

(a) the names of the States where regional Doordarshan units have not been started;
(b) the names of the States where more than one news unit has been set up by the Government;
(c) whether the Government is not in a position to start regional news unit of Doordarshan in Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the details of locations where regional news units are being operated from rented buildings along with the date from which these units are operating from rented buildings?

(a) All states are concerned with regards to DD News. In terms of physical unit, Regional News Unit at Sikkim is not operational.
(b) & (c) In the State of Jammu & Kashmir three Regional News Units of Doordarshan News have been set up by the Government i.e. at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. In the State of Madhya Pradesh Regional News Unit has been set up at Bhopal.
(d) All Regional News Units are operating from own (DD) buildings.
