Ministry considers declaration of some of the State roads as NHs from time to time based on the requirements of connectivity, traffic levels, inter-se priority and availability of funds. Ministry had received 9 proposals at a cost of 1625.68 Crore during 2021-22 for construction of National Highways, of which 6 proposals at a cost of Rs 1152.20 Crore have been sanctioned.
