(a) & (b): The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation
in Admission) Act, 2006 provides 27% reservation in admission in
central educational institutions for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
category candidates who come from the non-creamy layer i.e. whose
parental family income from all sources of less than Rs.4.5 lakhs
annualy. Those candidates who belong to the castes notified in
the Central lists of SEBCs/OBCs, as per Resolution of the Ministry
of Social Justice & Empowerment as modified from time to time
based on the advice of the National Commission for Backward
Classes (NCBC), are eligible for availing the benefits of
reservation under the Act of 2006. List of State-wise OBCs
eligible for availing the benefit of reservation is available at
the web site http://ncbc.nic.in/backward- classes/index.html.
