Question : Financial Crisis for Small and Medium Scale Industries

(a) whether the Government is aware a large number of small and medium scale industries are facing financial stress and if so, the details thereof and the reasons for the same;

(b) whether the Government proposes to bring out any scheme/has taken major initiative to ease availability of funds to this sector and if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the other corrective measures taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): In order to alleviate the problem of financial stress and to ease availability of funds to Micro, Small & Medium Scale industries, Government has taken several measures. These include launching of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, Credit Guarantee Scheme, Interest Subvention Scheme, 59 minutes loan portal and MSME-Samadhaan portal etc. These initiatives are intended to provide margin money subsidies, collateral free loan, cheaper and faster availability of capital and to solve the delayed payments issue to some extent.
