Question : Fire Incident in Air India Flight

(a) whether an Air India flight AI 405 from Varanasi to Delhi caught fire while landing under emergency condition at the Indira Gandhi International Airport which had a close shave for 150 passengers on
board recently;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Air India had ordered any enquiry into this incident; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon?

(a) & (b) Air India Flight AI 405 from Varanasi to Delhi of 07/09/2015 operated with A320 aircraft VT-ESI was involved in an Emergency Landing Incident at Delhi due to Hydraulic Green System Low Level. As per Report of the pilot, after landing the Ground Staff reported aircraft
Left Main Wheel on fire. Immediate action was taken and all passengers were safely evacuated through escape slides.

(c) & (d) The Incident is under Investigation by Directorate General of
Civil Aviation .
