Question : Vacancies in CAPF

(a) the details of sanctioned/existing strength, vacant posts and requirement of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel in the country, rank and force-wise;

(b) the measures taken by the Government to fill all the vacant posts of CAPF personnel including in the SSB;

(c) whether there is shortage of CAPF personnel in the country and if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor; and

(d) whether the Government proposes to increase the strength of CAPF personnel and if so, the details thereof?

* The Staff Selection Commission has since recommended 57,014 candidates for recruitment as Constable (General Duty). The offers of appointment have been issued by the Forces.
(b) to (d) : Filling up of vacancies is an ongoing and continuous process, as they arise due to reasons such as new raising, retirements, resignations etc. Vacancies are filled through various methods of recruitment such as direct recruitment, promotion or deputation as prescribed in the recruitment rules. Further, augmentation of CAPFs is a continuous process which is done as per the administrative and operational requirements of the Forces.
