(a) whether the Government has made any study on performance and
achievements of the National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India
Ltd.;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has initiated qualitative improvement in the working of
NAFED; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): A Committee comprising the officers of Department of Agriculture &
Cooperation (DAC), Comptroller & Auditor General of India, Managing Director,
NAFED was constituted under the Chairmanship of Addl. Secretary, DAC in 2010 to
suggest and recommend necessary structural and systematic improvements required
in the functioning of NAFED. The Committee made various suggestions like
amendment of bye laws of NAFED, amendment of business procedure, strengthening
of internal audit, nomination of functional directors in the Board of Directors of NAFED
etc. to bring professionalism in decision making process and to revamp the working of
NAFED. The recommendations of the Committee have been accepted by NAFED.
