(a) whether teachers training institutes have been opened in Jharkhand under the ambitious scheme of the Union Government to provide useful education in the area of Higher Education in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps proposed to be taken to open such institutes
in the State?

(a to c) As per the information furnished by the National
Council for Teacher Education, the Council has recognised
Bethesda Women’s Teacher Training Institute, Ranchi,
Loyala College of Education, Jamshedpur and Ursuline
Women’s Teachers Training College, Lohardagga as teacher
training institutes for higher education in Jharkhand.
Under the Scheme of Restructuring and Re-organisation
of Teacher Education, there is provision for upgrading
Teachers Training Institutes into College of Teacher
Education and Institute of Advanced Studies in Education as
per the proposals received from the State Government.
