Question : AMENDMENT TO WAKF ACT,1995

to the reply given to Unstarred Question No. 2344 dated March 15, 2007 regarding amendment in Wakf Act, 1995 and state:

(a) the progress made in regard to the process of amendment to Wakf Act, 1995; and

(b) the time by which the said Act is likely to be amended?

a) A comprehensive amendment to the Wakf Act, 1995 is under consideration of Government.

b) It is not possible to indicate an exact time frame at this stage. However, this will be done expeditiously.
