Question : Community Toilets in AP

(a) whether the Government of Andhra Pradesh is focusing on construction of community toilets in select villages of Vizianagaram, Anantapur and Srikakulam districts as many people are unable to construct toilets at their houses due to space constraints, if so, the details thereof and the financial assistance being provided to AP State by Union Government since the inception of the scheme, year and district-wise in the State;
(b) the details of the construction of individual and community toilets in select villages as part of the steps to achieve 100% ‘Open Defecation Free’ (ODF) status for the districts by February, 2018 in AP State;
(c) whether the construction of individual toilets had been going on smoothly in tribal areas too in Andhra Pradesh including Araku, Paderu and other areas, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the funds sanctioned/spent for the ODF in tribal areas since inception of the scheme in AP State?

(a)&(b) As per the information received from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) have been sanctioned in Vizianagaram, Ananthapurand Srikakulam districts based on the requirement and proposals submitted bythe districts.The State has already becomeOpen Defecation Free (ODF) on 07.07.2018. The details of individual household latrines (IHHLs) and CSCs constructed in Vizianagaram, Ananthapurand Srikakulam districts are as given below:
