Question : TRAINING TO THE SSI



(a) whether it is a fact that the Union Government impart training in the field of small scale industries;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the funds allocated to each State in this regard during the last three years and current year, State-wise;

(d) whether the Union Government have sought World Bank assistance to supplement the funding to impart training in the field of small scale industries; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

MINISTER OF STATE FOR SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES AND DEVELOPMENT OF NORTH-EASTERN REGION (SHRI TAPAN SIKDAR)

(a) & (b): Organisations and Field Institutions under the Ministry of Small Scale Industries such as National Small Industries Corporation, Small Industries Service Institutes, Regional Testing Centres, Field Testing Stations Product and Process Development Centres, Tool Rooms and the three national level Training Institutions are imparting training in various fields pertaining to small scale industries which inter-alia include Entrepreneurship/ Management/ Skill Development, Quality/ Environment Management, Energy Conservation, Pollution Control and Waste Minimisation, etc.

(c): As these Programmes are either location specific or product/ process/ target group specific, funds for the Programme are made available to the Organisations/ Field Institutions under the Ministry of Small Scale Industries out of the total budgetary allocations of the Ministry. No funds are provided to the State Governments.
