(a)& b) As per budget announcement 2018-19, Ministry of Tribal Affairs is to establish 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across the country including the State of Assam upto the year 2022. Out of these, 588 EMRSs have already been sanctioned till date. State/UT-wise list of these 588 sanctioned EMRSs is annexed at Annexure-I. Block and Village wise details of all these schools is available at Dashboard: www.dashboard.tribal.gov.in. Remaining 152 EMRSs are scheduled to be sanctioned during the year 2021-22. As per the extant Guidelines of EMRS, existing capital cost for construction of EMRS in plain areas is Rs. 20.00 Crore with 20% increase in hilly and LWE affected areas. Besides, recurring grant at the rate of Rs.1.09 lakh per student per annum is also provided for running of EMRSs.
(c) State/UT and year-wise fund released for EMRSs during the last three years and current year is at Annexure-II.
(d) Three EMRSs have already been sanctioned in the districts of West Champaran, Jamui and Kaimur (Bhabua) and no further EMRS is scheduled to be sanctioned upto the year 2022 for the State of Bihar as per existing criteria of the scheme.
