Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY ( SHRI DIGVIJAY SINGH )

(a) to (c) : No, Sir. The display of `Made in India` logo on the packets of Consumer Products has not been made mandatory for exports. However, in cases where exporters want to avail the facility of Paragraph 14.4 of the EXIM Policy for waiver of value cap under the Duty Entitlement Pass Book Scheme (DEPB), the display/ embossing of `Brand name` and the `Made in India` logo on the packets of products is mandatory. With effect from 1.4.2001, this benefit is available for export of `Consumer Goods` only in terms of Policy Circular No. 1 dated 3.5.2001 issued in this regard.
