Question : Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bansgaon

(a) whether there is any scheme at present under which a Kendriya Vidyalaya
can be opened in Bansgaon Parliamentary constituency as there is not even a
single Kendriya Vidyalaya till date due to which the meritorious students are
deprived of good education; and
(b) if so, the details thereof?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI RAMESH POKHRIYAL ‘NISHANK’)
(a) & (b) Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are opened primarily to cater to the educational
needs of the wards of transferable Central Government Employees including
Defence personnel by providing a common programme of education. Proposals for
opening of new KVs are considered only if sponsored by Ministries or Departments
of the Government of India/State Governments / Union Territories Administrations
thereby committing resources for setting up a new KV as well as the availability of
necessary sanction of the Government. The proposals received from various
sponsoring authorities for opening of new KVs also have to compete among other
proposals under the “Challenge Method”.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has informed that it has not received any
proposal, in the prescribed performae from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh
for opening of a new KV in Bansgaon Parliamentary Constituency.
