(a) whether State Governments have allotted land to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for the purpose of industrial research;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with its utilisation, State-wise including Telangana;
(c) whether unutilised land is being returned to the State and if so, the area of land that has been identified for return to each such State Governments;
(d) whether CSIR is planning to transfer or lease out the unutilised land to any third-party for any other purpose; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor, State-wise?

Further, it is also mentioned that the land measuring 0-74-50 hectares at Naugal Farm, Bundla, Palampur which was initially used by Regional Research Laboratory, Extension Centre, Bundla Palampur of IIM (erstwhile RRL, J) Jammu is being used by CSIR-IHBT after the merger of RRL, Extension Centre with this Institute. 31 CSIR-CSIO-CHANDIGARH Yes 1. Govt. of Punjab had given 50 acres of land to CSIR, Chandigarh in 1962. In 1964, 64.59 acres land was given to CSIO. In 1991 additional land 4.9606 acres was allotted on lease hold basis for 99 years to CSIO by Union Territory, Chandigarh. The total land measuring 119.5506 acres is being utilized by CSIO for Research & Development, Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) and Residential Campus.
2. Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd.(RIICO Ltd.), Jaipur had allotted 2944.33 sq.mt. Land in Malviya Industrial Area, Jaipur in 1979 to CSIO on leasehold basis for 99 years. This industrial plot was part of the land handed over by the State of Rajasthan to RIICO Ltd., Jaipur for setting up of Industrial Area. This land was earlier utilized by the erstwhile Service & Maintenance (S&M) Centre of CSIO. 1. NA
