(a) whether the Government proposes to increase the share of private sector in defence production up to 74 per cent;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, whether the Government proposes to explore other options to increase the share of private sector; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Since May 2001, Indian private sector participation is allowed upto 100% in
Defence industry sector with FDI upto 26%. So far, 144 Industrial Licenses/Letters of Intent(ILs/LOIs) have been issued to a number of private sector companies for manufacturing of
various defence items.
