Question : Kendriya Vidyalayas in Minority Areas

(a) whether the Government proposes to open 100 Kendriya Vidyalayas in minority
areas across the country;
(b) if so, the names of the areas which have been identified to open these Kendriya
Vidyalayas under Public Private Partnership (PPPs) model in the country; and
(c) the names of the minority areas in Bihar, particularly in Gaya district, for which the
Government has issued guidelines for opening Kendriya Vidyalayas?

(a) No such proposal is under consideration at present. The Kendriya Vidyalayas
(KVs) are opened primarily to cater to the educational needs of the children of
transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para–Military
personnel by providing a common programme of education.
(b) Does not arise.
(c) No such guidelines have been issued as KVs are not opened on the criteria of
minority concentrated districts/areas.
