Question : BHIWANI JUNCTION RAILWAY STATION



(a) whether Bhiwani junction was declared a Model Railway Station ;

(b) the details of passenger amenities and other infrastructural development expected to be executed in a Model Railway Station and the details of such facilities provided by the Railways at Bhiwani junction as on date; and

(c) the amount of funds allocated for this purpose year-wise since then and the heads under which this amount was spent?

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b): Model stations are to be provided with additional amenities depending upon the category of the station, such as retiring room, waiting room, public address system/computer based announcement system, electronic train indicator board, public phone booths, water coolers, standardized signages etc. The details of amenities provided at Bhiwani junction includes retiring room, waiting room (with bathing facilities) for upper class and second class( separate for ladies ), public address system, cloak room, enquiry counter, drinking water facility, platform shelter, signages, parking/circulating area with lights, washable apron, Pay & Use toilets and Automatic Teller Machines.

(c): Development of railway stations are undertaken under Plan Head “Passenger Amenities”. Station-wise allocation of funds for this purpose is not maintained. However, allocation of funds under Plan Head during 2010-11 for North Western Railway where Bhiwani Junction station falls is Rs. 23.37 Cr.
