Question : Raising Day

(a) whether the Government has announced the observance of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Raising Day on 9th March, 2017 in the country and if so, the details along with the aims and objectives thereof;

(b) the details of the programmes organized by the Government on this occasion;

(c) the extent to which the objectives of observing the said day has been achieved;

(d) whether the Government proposes to enhance the strength of CISF in view of huge work load and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if so, the steps taken/being taken by the Government for the welfare of CISF personnel as well as their families?

(a) to (e) Every CAPF celebrates its ‘Raising Day’ every year. Such an event serves as a platform to reaffirm the commitments of the Force to the nation and also help to express solidarity of the Force personnel with the organizational values. The CISF observed its last Raising Day on 10th March, 2017. It was celebrated with various welfare programmes, ceremonial parade and ‘At Home’ function.

As regards enhancement of the strength of CISF, the strength of CISF has already been raised to 1,80,000. Progressive improvement in the welfare of Force personnel is a continuous endeavour.
