(a) & (b) : Yes, Sir. The Government have initiated an urban green belt programme in selected cities/towns. The salient feature of the programme is to reduce environmental pollution and improve the environment. The programme is implemented through State Pollution Control Boards in collaboration with Forest Departments, local bodies, Public Health Departments,Water and Sewerage Boards. The approach for implementation of the programme is through awareness building and involvement of people in planting and protecting the trees to achieve the desired goal.
