(a) whether internet is a biggest library in the world; and
(b) if so, the manner in which the Government propose to increase its use in the next 5 years in the fields of Urban & Rural settlements, Schools, Colleges, Shopping centres, Industrial areas, Agricultural fields and Tourist centres?

(a): Yes, Sir. Internet is a network of networks encompassing
the entire globe. It is a virtual information store and the
information available on internet is far more than any Single
Library in the world. Today people and businesses around the
world can use the internet to retrieve the information,
communicate and conduct business globally and access a vast array
of services and resources Online.
(b): Government has taken several steps to increase the use of
Internet in the fields of urban & rural settlements, schools,
colleges, Shopping centres, industrial areas, Agricultural
fields, Tourist centers, as per the details given in Annexure.
Most of the activities mentioned in Annexure will continue for
next five years to increase the use of Internet.
