Question : POWER PROJECTS DURING TENTH PLAN



(a) whether the Government have taken a decision to help State Governments to set up Power Projects during the Tenth Plan period to achieve the targeted power production of 44,000 MW in the said period;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited has agreed to offer to the State Governments to expertise in residual life assessment of existing power plants of the State Governments; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

A capacity of about 3000 MW is likely to be added through renewable during the 10th Plan period.

(d) : NTPC has offered consultancy service for Residual Life Assessment (RLA) for the following 6 power stations :
?	Patratu TPS (4x110 MW) of Jharkhand State Electricity Board.
?	Santhaldin TPS (4x120 MW) of West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd.
?	Chandrapura TPS (3x140 MW + 3x120 MW) of Damodar Valley Corporation.
?	Durgapur TPS (1x140 MW) of Damodar Valley Corporation.
?	Gandhinagar TPS (2x120 MW) of Gujarat Electricity Board.
?	Ukai TPS (2x120 MW) of Gujarat Electricity Board.
