Question : National Highway Projects

(a) the total number of National Highway (NH) projects taken up in the country, State/UT-wise particularly in Uttar Pradesh;
(b) the details thereof including the status of plantation on both side of these NHs; and
(c) the time since when these projects are under construction along with the time by which these are likely to be completed?

(a) to (c) 1440 projects on National Highways are under construction in the country including the 65 National Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh. Details of these National Highway Projects are placed at Annexure-I. Projects are given a time period of 2 to 3 years for completion.
The plantation on both sides of Highways in the country is carried out as per relevant provisions of Manual published by Indian Roads Congress (IRC), Green Highways Policy, 2015 and other guidelines of Government of India. Plantations are generally undertaken after substantial completion of Civil works. The status of plantation activities depend on the stage of the project.
