Question : EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE TO BIHAR FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CITIES AND TOWNS

to the reply given to USQ.No. 5482 dated 29.4.2003 and state the cities and towns in Bihar to which funds have been provided for development by the World Bank or any other international financial institution during the last three years?

The Assurance in respect of USQ No. 5482 dated 29.4.2003 regarding foreign assistance for development of cities and towns has since been fulfilled on 13.8.2003. It has been indicated therein that no assistance for development of cities and towns is currently being received for Bihar. Details of the financial assistance provided for the development of cities and towns of others States are given in Annexure.

Further, during the last three years, no foreign assistance for development of cities and towns in Bihar was received from World Bank or any other international financial institution.
