(a) whether the Government had commissioned M/s Rabo India Finance Private Limited to report on the Food Processing Industry;
(b) if so, whether any recommendations have since been made
by the above company;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the implementation status thereof?

(a) to (d): A Vision Document on Food Processing Industries
has been prepared by M/s Rabo India Finance Pvt. Ltd.
This envisages trebling the size of the processed food
sector by increasing the level of processing of perishables
from 6% to 20%, value addition from 20% to 35% and share in
global food trade from 1.5% to 3% by 2015. Government has
identified strategies in this regard.
