(a) whether the Government proposes to set up specialised research centres or hospitals in the country;

(a) to (c): Indian Council of Medical Research under the Department of Health Research has 31 permanent Institutes/Specialized Research Centres (Andhra Pradesh : 3; Assam: 1; Bihar: 1; Delhi : 3; Gujarat : 1; Karnataka : 2; Madhya Pradesh : 2; Maharashtra : 7; Orissa : 1; Rajasthan : 1; Tamil Nadu : 3; Uttar Pradesh: 2; West Bengal: 2; Pondicherry : 1; Andaman & Nicobar : 1). Besides, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (though Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) also conduct research through their Institutes/research centres. The need for new centres is assessed from time to time based on requirements.
